Serious and Violent Offender Reentry
Initiative Grantee
Hawaii Department of Public Safety (Amount: $2,000,000*)
The Hawaii Department of Public Safety will target approximately
225 adult offenders between the ages of 18 and 35 who were released
from the Maui Community Correctional Center located in Wailuku
on the island of Maui. Through the Hawaii Reentry Project, the
Department of Public Safety will partner with various service agencies
to address recidivism, substance abuse, and physical and mental
health, and to support workforce participation, housing, family
reunification, faith-based support, and mentoring. For more
